Child and Adolescent Online Therapy Groups Fall 2020

Art Therapy Open Studio for Teens [Virtual Edition] 
with Maureen Springer MA, ATR-P 
Fridays 3:00-4:30pm 
Open to high school students (grades 9-12) 
 This online group is designed to provide high school teens with an open space for creative expression and connection through art-making and art therapy techniques. Bring your own ideas and art materials or be inspired by the weekly prompts and themes provided. The goals of the group are to increase emotional regulation and self-expression through art-making and group processes. No previous art experience required! 


Therapeutic Art and Fanfiction Group 
with Lenaya Kerlin MA, LPCC, ATR 
Grades 5-8: Tuesdays from 6-7:30 starting October 20th 
Grades 9-12: Thursdays from 6-7:30 starting October 22nd 
 This 8-week group allows participants to utilize their interest in fandoms to create their own hero’s journey.  Participants will be encouraged to utilize art materials to bring their character and story to life. Goals include increasing knowledge of strengths, understanding of growth mindset, self-expression through artmaking, and creative problem solving. 


Child Mindfulness Through the Senses  
with Estefania Alvarez-Zumarraga, MA, ATR-P 
Thursdays from 5-6pm starting October 29th 
Grades 5-8 
 This 6-week group is designed to provide a safe space for middle school students to learn and practice mindfulness skills  by using their five senses: vision, smell, touch, hearing and taste.  The goal of this group is to help students learn about their senses, various emotions, and how to implement mindfulness as a coping skill for stress reduction in everyday life.


Parent-Child/Guardian-Child Mindfulness Skills and Therapy Group 
With Rachel Todd, BA 
Tuesdays from 4-4:45pm starting October 27th 
Grades K – 4

This 6-week program is designed for parents and children to learn and implement a variety of mindfulness skills. We will process difficult emotions and situations and practice different mindfulness approaches that can be applied to them. The goal of this group is to help families improve self-regulation, co-regulation, and stress reduction. This group is available to parent-child or guardian-child dyads for kids in grades K-4th.
