SUMMARY:Feeding the Roots: SoulCollage® and the Ancestral Hearth
DESCRIPTION:Every single one of us is backed by a vast lineage. We inherit their resilience\, their creativity\, and very often\, the distinct flavors of their kitchens. The food our ancestors prepared sustained them through history so that we could be here today. \nThe Ancestral Table is a sacred\, multi-sensory immersion designed to help you honor those roots through intuitive creativity and communal dining. \nWe will begin our day using SoulCollage®\, a powerful cut-and-paste process. Bypassing your analytical mind\, you will forage through a curated vault of evocative images to create personalized cards that give a visual voice to your lineage—honoring bloodline ancestors\, mentors of spirit\, or ancestors of place. \nThen\, we transition to the heart of our evening: The Legacy Potluck. This is not just a standard buffet; it is a living ritual of remembrance. We will dine alongside our ancestors\, setting a dedicated “Ancestor Plate” at the table\, pouring traditional libations\, and lighting candles to welcome their presence. As we eat\, each participant will share the story behind their dish\, turning the dinner into a beautifully woven tapestry of history\, memory\, and flavor. \n✨ What You Will Experience: \n\nThe Ancestral Hearth Meditation: A guided visualization to connect with the wisdom of your lineage.\nIntuitive SoulCollage® Making: Crafting your own 5×8 Ancestor cards using premium art materials.\nThe Legacy Potluck Ritual: A structured communal meal where we feed our spirits\, offer ancestral toasts\, and share family food history.\nGiving Voice to the Lineage: A guided journaling and partner-sharing process to decode the direct messages your cards have for your life today.\n\n🍲 The Legacy Potluck: What to Bring \nThe centerpiece of our dinner is the food we share. We invite every participant to bring a dish that represents their ancestral heritage. \n\nIt could be a cherished family recipe passed down through generations (like your grandmother’s bread or a traditional holiday stew).\nIt could be a dish that represents the geography or culture of your heritage (even if it’s a simple\, rustic food your ancestors relied on).\nPlease note: Along with your dish\, please bring a small card listing its ingredients and a 2-3 sentence story of its origin to display on the table!\n\n🗓️ Event Details \n\nDate & Time: Friday\, October 30th\, 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM\nAges: 18+\nLocation: 275 4th St E\, #301\, St. Paul\, 55101\nInvestment: $150 – Includes all premium art supplies\, workshop materials\, workshop facilitation\, and non-alcoholic Legacy Potluck beverages (EARLY BIRD PRICE OF $125 AVAILABLE THROUGH 10/23)\nWhat to Bring: A journal\, a pen\, your ancestral potluck dish\, and optionally\, a photo or small token of an ancestor for our collective altar.\n\n🎯 This Immersion is Perfect for You If: \n\nYou want to explore genealogy and family history through a creative\, embodied lens.\nYou love the magic that happens when people share deep stories over home-cooked food.\n\n••You crave a sacred space to slow down and consciously express gratitude for those who paved the way for you. \nPrimary Facilitator: Heather Matson\, MA\, LMFT\, ATR-BC®\, ATCS\, PATP

SUMMARY:Self-of-the-Therapist Experiential Process Painting (6.5 CEs) – Winter 2026
DESCRIPTION:Discounted early bird rate of $30 off available now through 11/03/26! \nWhen applying concepts from El Duende Process Painting and the Anchored Relational Method—including Relational Autonomy and Relational Cohesion—to self-of-the-therapist clinical practice\, the therapist’s evolving relationship with a single canvas becomes the vehicle for learning. Sequential layering of art materials invites ongoing self-reflexivity through aesthetic attunement\, Relational Resonance\, and clinical intuition. This process encourages aesthetically focused curiosity and exploration of internal and external relationships\, often bringing forward deeper layers of professional and personal identity. \nThrough intuitive process painting\, participants will strengthen their capacity to recognize and respond to emotional\, somatic\, and relational cues within themselves and the therapeutic relationship. This experiential practice supports greater presence\, self-awareness\, and clinical responsiveness while exploring how internal responses can inform—rather than direct—the therapeutic process. \nThe structure of process painting has three main activities: \n\nSpontaneous painting\nComplex reflective processing\nAesthetically focused attention to imagery appearing in the painting that parallels the clinical experience\n\nThis process offers numerous benefits including enhanced self-reflexivity\, improved clinical intuition\, and a deeper understanding of internal and external relationships. Engagement from Active Imagination\, practicing and applying “neurology\, development\, dignity\, resilience\, and vulnerability inherent in all human beings.. supporting life-giving actions in line with values.” (Miller and Solon 2024) \nSeminar Schedule: \n\n9:00 – Guided Relaxation\, Introductions\, and Experiential Check-In\n9:45 – Explanation and Instructions for Process Painting\n10:00 – Experiential Process Painting: Part I\n11:30 – Small-Group Processing and Integration\n12:30 – Lunch Break\n1:00 – Experiential Process Painting: Part II\n3:00 – Large-Group Reflection\, Clinical Integration\, and Closing\n\nArt of Counseling\, PLLC\, is an ATCB Authorized Continuing Education (CE) Provider. CE activities are accepted for recertification of Board Certified Registered Art Therapists (ATR-BC) and fall within ATCB-approved content areas: Art Therapy\, General Mental Health Education\, Supervision\, and Ethics. \nhis course has been approved for 6.5 continuing education clock hours both by the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy (MN board of MFT) (Approval no. 2026.492) and the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health and Therapy (BBHT) (CE Activity No. 2026.CE.491)
