Juliana incorporates narrative concepts into her art therapy process to facilitate a safe and trusting dynamic with her clients. Her recent experience in partial hospitalization with adolescents has allowed her to maintain humor and flexibility, which she believes opens the conversation and deepens the capacity for connection and hope. She approaches each client with an inquiring and open mind, hoping to gain understanding, genuine connection, and developing a judgement free zone. Art therapy can unite the conscious and unconscious storylines bridging current and past conflicts. Her hope is use her skills to nurture each client towards acceptance and growth of their fullest potential.

Juliana’s experience includes working with Veterans, active duty service members, and their families. She aims to process and move through reintegration difficulties as well as working through possible traumas related to service, including combat, sexual trauma, and harassment. She is invested in the twin cities communities as well, participating in the Percent for Art program through the State Arts Board, which brings art to public buildings throughout Minnesota and the Minnesota Art Therapy Association broadening awareness and education surrounding art therapy to communities and the legislature to expand access to art therapy.

Juliana graduated from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY with a master’s in Art Therapy and Creativity Development in October of 2013. Juliana is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and is in the final stages of pursuing a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
