Bio

Keagan’s (she/they) therapeutic approach centers around the Adlerian concept of “every behavior has a purpose,” especially when working with the youth population. She predominantly works with ages 8-25, specializing in working with those in the LGBTQIA+ community and other marginalized groups.

Keagan practices through a trauma-informed lens and believes in holding authentic space for individuals to explore their own perspectives, using art making and storytelling as a way to examine how those perspectives contribute to presenting behaviors.

In addition, Keagan works within a Strength Based approach and encourages exploration of strengths, autonomy, and boundaries. She strives to meet people where they are emotionally and mentally—while also acknowledging that this changes every day, and she encourages individuals to be compassionate towards themselves as they delve into the therapeutic experience.

Keagan is also a certified yoga instructor and believes in a strong mind/body/spiritual connection and is willing to integrate these components into the therapeutic practice in relation to the individual’s treatment goals.

Keagan completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler graduate school and is the School-based Art Therapy Coordinator working in contract with the Saint Paul Public Schools.
