Bio
Lenaya is also a life-long nerd. Fandoms and gaming are both languages that she utilizes in the therapy relationship. Just like these stories and games have goals, character development, and hurdles, so, too, does the human lifespan. Lenaya enjoys creatively using these interests in combination with Narrative, Art, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to create a unique counseling experience that sees nerd-culture as a creative strength.
Lenaya operates from a person-centered and strength-based perspective, seeking to understand each client’s unique experience as well as the skills in which they already approach the world in order to build new skills for the future. Her most recent counseling experience was in a school-based position, working primarily with adolescents and young adults. Lenaya has experience working with autism, trauma, life transitions, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Lenaya graduated with a dual master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Antioch University Seattle. Lenaya is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Minnesota and is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). Lenaya is also trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
