Bio
Lisa obtained her bachelor’s degree from Doane University in 2004, majoring in Sociology with an emphasis in criminal justice. Lisa completed coursework for degree requirements in chemical dependency counseling in 2005 and obtained her LADC license in 2005. Lisa graduated with her master’s degree in 2019 from Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis. She is currently licensed as an LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor). She has worked in various settings, including hospitals (inpatient and emergency departments), community-based in-home therapy, school-based mental health, and chemical health.
Lisa’s clinical interests are working with adults struggling with addiction, mental health, and any additional behaviors/barriers. Lisa believes focusing on strengths is an essential component of the healing process. Her approach uses person-centered and cognitive-behavioral therapies to equip clients with tools to create a healthier sense of self. She is currently a doctoral student at Saint Mary’s University, working towards her doctorate in counseling psychology.
