Bio

My approach to therapy centers around building trust within the therapeutic relationship. I prioritize active listening, holding a non-judgmental stance, and balancing validation of your experiences with support toward the changes you are hoping for. My style incorporates humor, authenticity, recognizing your strengths, and highlighting patterns and themes to explore together. I believe healing happens best in a relationship that feels safe, collaborative, and connected.

I work from a trauma-informed lens, and often acknowledge and explore the ways systems of oppression and injustice impact our day-to-day lives. I aim to provide validation and encouragement along with gentle challenges, and often incorporate coping skills and frameworks from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My goal with teaching DBT skills is to help you feel empowered and capable when facing challenges and have more ways to approach validating and holding space for your own emotions and experiences.

My hope is that when you are in session with me, you feel safe to laugh, cry, show up as your full self, and explore what matters to you based on your own goals, priorities and values. In both group and individual settings, I view therapy as an exercise in teamwork and in showing up as your teammate.
