Weiiland Dyer

Doctoral Student Intern

Bio

Weiland (she/her) follows a person-centered philosophy rooted in the belief that everyone has a unique story. She believes that our experiences shape how we understand ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. By honoring the uniqueness of each person’s story, she strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients can explore their experiences without judgment and develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

A third-year doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Weiland has a growing interest in psychological assessment. Her clinical training includes individual and group counseling, diagnostic assessment, and crisis intervention under the supervision of licensed psychologists. She follows an integrative existential approach but, most importantly, works to meet clients where they are. Weiland has provided therapy in private practice, within an intensive day treatment center, and at a college counseling level. Her clinical interests include, but are not limited to, trauma, relational issues, grief, life transitions, anxiety, mood-related challenges, and personality disorders.

Weiland is particularly interested in using psychological assessment to develop a deeper understanding of clients’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning and to translate assessment findings into meaningful clinical recommendations. Weiland is willing to work with people of all ages and is LGBTQ+ friendly. During her free time, she enjoys writing existential poetry and nature walks with her two dogs.
